Course Task: Inquiry Lesson

Task: Students in all sections of EDU 374 will develop an inquiry-based science lesson plan appropriate for elementary students and includes the following components:

• Prepares a thorough list of concepts and objectives which are clearly stated and relevant to the inquiry lesson.
• Lesson models inquiry-based science teaching.
• Lesson is meaningful and includes concepts, suggested procedures, guiding questions, materials list, record sheets (if required), and resources, as well as all other components.
• Lesson includes appropriate resources and they are cited accordingly.
• Clear and organized teacher background presented, as appropriate.
• Clearly stated and appropriate assessment strategies.
• Integrates other subject areas, as appropriate.
• Addresses New York State MST Standards and other standards as appropriate.
