Candidates may retake any SUNY Cortland course. All grades received for the course will remain on the official transcript, but the cumulative average will reflect only the last grade received.

If a course is taken to raise the GPA, candidates must complete a form available at the Registrar’s Office at the beginning of the semester during which a course is repeated.

Retaking a course in which a student earned a low grade is one of the best ways for the student to raise his/her overall GPA.
